I only see orders here for about 30 books. 5 books would cost me about $70., but that's only if we order 150 books. How much more do you think they'll be if we don't order the minimum of 150? I don't know if I could afford to buy 5 if they're much more.

Alrighty ... I noticed the same thing Bette. The minimum order is 100 books... , with only 30 being requested.. that means a whole lot of leftover books. I can keep the price the same, by putting less recipes in the books, but that still doesn't help with there being 70ish extra books that I have to pay for up front...
So... I guess the question is this... What do y'all want me to do with the cookbook at this point??
Any thoughts or ideas?

This is just a suggestion, but at another board I was at, the recipes were just xeroxed, collated and inexpensively bound (like at Kinko's). This was done several times.
Certainly not fancy, but you may want to consider that??

Lori, I think you should let things slid until after the wedding, you have too much on your plate right. I like Anni's idea of "printing" it yourself. The front and back covers could be laminated so the binding would be less likely to tear out and use comb binding. You can buy those for 4 cents each ( $4.02 for a box of 100 ). I know it would be extra work for you but I would hate to see the work you have done already to go to waste. I could also check to see what my printer could come up with for an idea. It wouldn't be fancy but the minimum run could be a lot lower.

If we are going to print them ourselves I would say Lori could list them all on a special section here and everyone could print their own out???

Yea, I really would like to have it like the other one, but it looks like right now, maybe not the right time, until we get more interest, to cover the costs.. I can always get it all typed up, and have it ready to go at a later date, when we know we have at least a 150 requested.. No problem at all..

Diane thought of something you might want to consider. Put them on a CD with a nice lable and that would be a lot less shipping and cost, then we could print out any recipies we want to try and we would have the CD forever??? Just a thought

Personally, I like anni's idea. I have several cookbooks like that from church groups and the like. I think they're a lot fun. Maybe we could design covers for it, and have a vote on which one we like best. Just thinking, here.
