Freezer ColeSlaw
From TOH Cooking School
1 medium headed cabbage (about 2 pounds) 1 tsp. salt 2 cups sugar 1 cup cider vinegar ¼ cup water 1 tsp. celery seed 1 tsp. mustard seed ½ cup finely chopped green pepper
In a large bowl, combine cabbage and salt; let stand for 1 hour In al large saucepan, combine the sugar, vinegar, water, celery seed. Bring to a boil; boil for 1 mimute. Remove from heat; cool. Add the carrot, green pepper and vinegar mixture to the cabbage mixture; stir to combine. Transfer to Ziploc freezer bag; seal and freeze for up to 2 months. Remove from the freezer 2 hours before serving. Serve with slotted spoon.

does the cabbage get soggy after being frozen?

She didn't say anything about that just it will keep up to two months in the freezer.

best I can remember it's not crisp...try 1/2 of the recipe and check it out.. DH only likes slaw made with s. dressing but he does like the vinegar slaw at the lake.. Mine just don't taste like what they make...
