I made this up last night for dinner, and boy was it good.
Whole Wheat Crust...
Ingredients:
1 Cup warm water 2 teaspoons sugar 1 teaspoon salt 1 package rapid Rise yeast 2 Tablespoons olive oil 3 Cups Whole Wheat Flour (I use King Arthur brand)
Put these ingredients into mixing bowl in order listed, kneed well, until everything is incorporated. I used my Kitchen Aid mixer, with the dough hook, and it took only a couple minutes.
You can either use this right away, or cover and set aside to rise for approx. 15 minutes.
This is a very stiff dough, but it spreads and rises very nicely.
Flatten evenly onto a pizza stone.
Toppings:
Low salt tomato sauce red pepper, diced yellow pepper, diced green pepper, diced small onion, chopped black olives, chopped mushrooms, sliced 1/2 C low fat shredded mozzerella cheese
Spoon sauce over crust evenly. Top with peppers, onions, mushrooms, and olives. Sprinkle cheese lightly over veggies.
Bake in a preheated 425F oven for 15 minutes. Let set for 4-5 minutes, and cut into 8 pieces.
This is so good, and its good for you too.
This is a huge family favorite. Enjoy ;D

bumping this one too, cuz I'm making this one too...
I couldn't make up my mind which to make, so I'm making one of each, seeing which the family likes best.
