4 Layer Apple Pie So, here is how you do it. The 4 layers are stacked "free-standing". Cook the filling stovetop. Blind-bake 3 of the 4 flat, circular crusts (traced/cut around a plate); cool, then spread with warm/hot pie filling and stack. Arrange attractively sliced apples over top of the 4th crust and bake. Glaze immediately with a clear jelly, i.e. apple, apricot, etc. Place on top of the stack while still warm . I add a plop of whipped cream when I serve it. Yummy

THat's odd I commented on this last night and it didn't show up.
Lori have you ever tried layering the apples in between each crust instead of just on top? Looks really good.

Yes thats the way this is made... you make the filling, and make the crusts, and then layer one crust, some filling and repeat, (if you look really close at the picture, you can see some of the apples peeking out between the layers) then you top it with the sliced apples, so it looks pretty. Sorry if my directions weren't clear on that.

Yes I understood that you are suppose to put the apple pie filling in each layer. I just didn't understand that you were suppose to put layers of apple slices in each layer too. I'm definetly trying this at my next company/get together thingy.
